Dare to be Digital 2016
I was hired to be a project intern for the Dare to be digital competition and Protoplay event held in Dundee city square and Caird hall. The project lasted 14 weeks and was one of the best challenges I've tackled so far. It was a great test of my communication, organisation and management skills to date. The best part was seeing every component come together for the festival, hearing and seeing the public enjoying the event proved that we had created a great event.
The Project had contained two components:
The Competition involved 16 teams that contained 89 students from all around the globe. Each of the teams were brought into Abertay University for 4 weeks to develop their games for the upcoming event Protoplay in which they would compete for a range of prices, judged by industry professionals.
My duties stretched from housing and IT set up for every contestant, mentor scheduling, Protoplay festival planning and development, marketing planning and social media management.
Awards: During this project I was also involved with working within Abertay's external communications department and pushed to get involved with their projects to help. This was recognised by the Awards committee and in September 2016 I was awarded the Mitchell Prize "for the student with the best performance in business communication",
